Mr. Aguilar is a professional electrical engineer registered in the state of California. He graduated with a BSEE degree from Texas Western College of the University of Texas (now University of Texas El Paso) in 1966. Upon graduation he went to work for Bechtel Corporation in Los Angeles, California, in the power generation division. With Bechtel he worked mainly in the design and construction of nuclear power plants and natural gas fired cogeneration stations both in the U.S. and abroad. In July 1995 he retired with Bechtel after 29 years of service. After retiring with Bechtel he and his wife Aurora decided to follow their children to Northern California who at the time were attending Dominican College of San Rafael and the University of California, Berkeley and decided to settle in Orinda, California where they have lived since 1996. Following his retirement with Bechtel, Mr. Aguilar performed consulting work for different companies including BART (under AECOM) and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He also worked two years in the design and construction of natural gas fired co-generation stations for Fluor Corporation in Irving, California. Prior to his graduation from Texas Western College Mr. Aguilar served honorably two years in the U. S. Army. During half of his service duty Mr. Aguilar was company clerk for the 720th Military Police battalion in Fort Hood, Texas and the other half with Special Services in the I Corps headquarters in Uijeongbu, Korea.
